The Situation
A family taking over a villa in Mirdif had been handed three keys by the previous occupant and had no way of knowing how many more copies existed. Nothing was broken and the locks themselves were in good order, so replacing the hardware would have been an unnecessary expense. How We Approached It
We started by removing each cylinder and inspecting it on the spot. All four were mechanically sound, so rekeying was the right call rather than replacement. We re-pinned every cylinder to a brand-new key combination, which permanently retires every key cut before that day.
Because the household was juggling separate keys for the main door, the side entrance, the storeroom and the roof access, we keyed all four locks alike. One key now opens everything, which removes the daily fumbling and the temptation to leave a spare hidden outside.
The Result
